The wind whips thru the leafless trees,
rushing,
with the whistle and woosh,
coldly rasping by nook and in cranny.
Tapping on the window in counterpoint with the
clock hand tick
tocking a language intertwined and corkscrewed
toward the interplay, fleeting.
I hear, o God, a chime
pealing out to the dark expanse
the peal appeals a pallish tune
dirging,
digging deeply downward.
And yet the clock tick, she marches.
On,
forward, and forth, for the time of
reflection
has drawn nigh, and to close
her lights doused and shutters drawn tight
and sleep,
shall come,
again.
Sidenote: I wish I had more time to write like this. I used to do it all the time.
